Hi
IĆ¢€™m an Indian female with 4 years of work experience in communications and media. I already have an mba from Cardiff university UK but I wish to get into mainstream marketing and strategy roles. I want you to help me gauge my chances for ISB or INSEAD. Aiming for a 700 in gmat. Yet it take exam.
Having an MBA previously can make things a bit tricky-- it is often best to check by program to see if they will allow another MBA-- many do but some don't. Hard to say what your chances are -- but about 10% of Indians getting an MBA at INSEAD are getting a second MBA so that is certainly a known route there-- having a 700 GMAT might not be enough-- would help to have a bit higher-- and then also to have some impressive work accomplishments. We have successfully coached many candidates to good results at INSEAD-- if you want to do a sales consult to learn more how we can help, I recommend you go to this link to sign up: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com/consult/

Hi
I am an Indian male IT engineer with 7 years of experience. I have a GMAT score of 690 ( Q44, V41). I don't have any extra curriculars. I am looking for schools in Canada, Singapore and Europe. Which schools shall I consider?
ronit_1987, I would say with a 690 GMAT from India that you will find some of your best options as you mention in canada, Singapore and Europe. For Canada, you should look at Rotman-- I just visited there and was extremely impressed with the options of the program including employers recruiting and special focus programs such as the Creative Distruction Lab and the Self Development Lab. I also think Schulich and Ivey are great options to apply there. For Europe, Top programs are INSEAD (also have program in Singapore)-- but not sure you will fare too well on that GMAT-- could also consider ie as well as ESADE and For Singapore-- NUS, NTU would be among the ones I'd look at first-- for more info on that you might look at this article: https://find-mba.com/schools/asia/singapore
But rather than just doing such a broad reach of locations I'd ask yourself where you most want to work post-MBA and then focus on that region. I also think I'd work on getting more extracurriculars as you will need a leadership profile regardless of where you seek the MBA. You may have more leadership at work that can be a proxy for community involvement if you spend most of your time working. If you are open to Canada, I think you may find the best opportunities there. I encourage you to sign up for our Stratus free newsletter to get more tips about all things MBA admissions. There's not enough information here to really be able to tell you! Not sure what demographic you are from-- and that 700 could mean different things depending on the answer to this question. However, a 700 is a very respectable score for any school-- so there is not any school that you would not be in the range of possibility. I suggest you sign up for this free webinar-- write your way to a top MBA--- as it is more than just the GMAT that matters and you will get some good insights about the application process from this webinar: https://register.gotowebinar.com/rt/7884019930408879105 It is June 7 10 am EST.

Hey Team

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask my question. Pl redirect me to the right thread if this is not a right one.

Question: Need some inputs if Global MBA program is a good choice for me.

Background: 2008 UG candidate from an Indian University. 7.97/10 CGPA. 2013 Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) candidate from One of top 20 B-Schools in India. Second best college on east coast. (Atleast at the time i attended). Currently married & have a kid under 1Yr old. Turned 31 yesterday but young at heart. Over 7Yrs Work exp spread across different profiles ranging from IT consultant, Sales Manager & IT Project Manager. Looking for a more focused global 1Yr - MBA program (NYU Stern Tech MBA/INSEAD/Richard Ivey or the likes). Prime reason for going for second MBA - Going Global. I understand that incurring a 50-60Lakh loan at this stage of career/Life is a substantial burden given I have a kid & a mortgage, but willing to take the leap looking at a longer term (10Yr) perspective.
Currently i am on the verge of booking my GMAT slot towards April End and kick start application process by May 9th in line with 2nd round deadline for INSEAD for Jan 2019 intake.

Before taking the leap need suggestions from fellow aspirants, if you have any specific qualified remarks on the path I chose & few suggestions on schools I realistically stand a chance.
I don't see a GMAT score here-- so can't say how realistic your plans are. Adcom will want to know WHY for the second MBA-- and the global answer is generally one of the better choices-- but still it is a hurdle to overcome. You can set yourself apart with strong school knowledge and understanding how the additional study will help you reach your goals post this MBA.
Thanks in advance.

I'm an Indian female engineering graduate, currently working as a Data Analyst (Digital Marketing) in a reputed IT products company in Chennai. I'm 29 months into this job, right after my under grad. I'm also into my NGO/NPO which is a registered one, for the past 4 years. I'm the Founder and President of it. We've done quite some commendable programs over the years. I also have some decent extra curricular that I did well during college. Coming to my acads part of my profile, it's not bright enough I must say. 85.6, 78.25 & 69.4 in 10th, 12th and under grad respectively.

My last attempt in CAT (MBA entrance test in India) was a serious one (CAT 2017) but I failed miserably compared to my mock tests and scores. I'm getting calls from the New IIMs, just like last year (for CAT 2016) when I cracked the interviews and got admits to all of them.
But prep wise I did well this time and cracked questions in critical and logical aspects. Yet the test day was totally not mine for some abstract reasons that I cannot justify. With all this said, it will take roughly a month or two for a good shot at GMAT for me.

I'm looking at countries like the Nordics, Germany, France, Netherlands and Canada, when it comes to GMAT.

So what should be my target score, strategy, plan, timeline, realistic options and the like?
Here are some tips for Indian women in approaching MBA programs:
TIA.

Generally speaking look for schools with lower females-- as they may be looking to increase that-- and you can help--- and also look at schools where your GMAT avg is 20-30 points over the state avg. Also research programs well enough to know how they can help you reach your career goals-- and also how you can help them.

Please help!!
You may find this list of top Canadian MBA programs helpful. https://find-mba.com/lists/top-business-schools-by-location/top-10-mba-programs-in-canada
Just to give an idea-- the avg GMAT at Rotman was 665, Ivey 667, York 660. Hope this helps you-- but also look at what you want to do and which schools have the best resources for this. That's also important. It is not all GMAT driven.
