Dimensions

Purpose

  • Provide vision and direction for global automation of IT service delivery leveraging ServiceNow suite.
  • Mature and integrate change and configuration management with other ITIL process areas, and supporting IT teams and functions to streamline processes.

Essential Duties

Change and Configuration Management Strategy

  • Provide vision and direction to mature change and configuration management capabilities in the ServiceNow suite, with an end goal of enabling IT service delivery and compliance automation.
  • Maintain, mature, and communicate process, tools, reporting and governance requirements for change and configuration management.
  • Engage end users, the business, and fellow IT members in the adoption and adaptation of the processes to individual functions and IT services.

Change & Configuration Management Governance

  • Track progress toward process adoption and performance metrics, and compliance audits with routine reporting and recommendations to senior IT leadership.
  • Lead Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, engaging the right stakeholders at the right times and educating them on change scope, risk and impact.
  • Integrate with other governance boards, such as Architecture Review Board and Technology Standards Board to provide Change & Configuration Management guidance.
  • Ensure the integrity of the configuration management system, including the CI data model and relationships.

Change & Configuration Management Process

  • Integrate operational procedures with supporting teams including service desk, cyber security, infrastructure, PMO, enterprise architecture and more.
  • Define the structure of the configuration management system, including CI types, naming conventions, attributes and relationships.
  • Identify and define the service assets to be designated as configuration items, and support CI class owners in defining CI baselines.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the processes; update operating procedures to support the activities as needed.

Team Management

  • Define and coordinate Configuration Analyst and Change Coordinator activities and responsibilities.
  • Serve as a role model for company leadership behaviors.
  • Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with third-party contractors and outsourcing service delivery partners.

Training & Experience

Knowledge:

  • Prefer B.S. or B.A. in a business or computer science field, or MBA with emphasis in computer information systems.
  • ITIL Foundations certification (minimum).

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years in change and configuration management.
  • Experience and deep understanding of ServiceNow Change and Configuration Management modules.
  • Experience enabling automation of IT services.
  • Experience operationalizing ITIL standards and best practices.
  • Experience working with and managing onshore and offshore third party service provider(s) and in a global delivery model.
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience to understand the “as-is” and “to-be” technical architecture.
  • Mining solutions experience a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivery of quality results on time and on budget.
  • Ability to work productively in a mixed onshore / offshore team.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning, Mining, Financial, and HR applications is an advantage.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Proficient in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of scope and change management process.

Working Conditions

  • Flexible hours to accommodate global support times as needed.
  • Travel may be required but is projected to be minimal.
