Hi Raunak,I have 7 years of experience (including 4 years in Europe, 2 years in India and 1 year in Singapore) with a leading market research company working into different consulting departments. Now that I am in Singapore, I came across the part time MBA options from NUS and NTU (PMBA), the courses/degree are exactly the same and both colleges claim to have the same opportunities for networking.
Since I work in consumer goods consulting, my post MBA dream is to get into brand management role for a FMCG giant. Do you think a part time MBA from one of these colleges will help me achieve this?
Another reason I am not keen on a full time MBA is that I have spoken to a few Indian recent alumniâs from both colleges and the salaries they get after the full time MBA are not very different to what I have. So if I go for a full time programme the opportunity cost is going to be huge and at the end the salary return would be lower.
So my thought process here is to continue my job and go for a part time MBA. This will help me gain more experience in the SG market which could be helpful 2 years from now when I also complete my MBA.
Could you please guide me here?

You have solid international experience and at right stage of your career when people plan to shift their career and move up the career ladder. Good to know that you are planning for MBA but in your case it makes sense to go for full time MBA, since part time MBA is suitable for people with more than 10+ years of work experience. If you plan to shift your career and move into brand management then going for full time MBA from good ranked schools will be a better option. Full time MBA programs will be offering dedicated career support centers and placement assistance which you might not get in part time MBA program, most of the applicants for part time MBA are company sponsored. Suggest you to consider full time MBA programs.
